Customs procedures in Vietnam are quick and simple. To enter and exit Vietnam, visitors are required to fulfill the entrance and exit procedures.
Particularly, to enter Viet Nam you need:
- a passport valid up to 6 months beyond your travel day
- a Viet Nam visa
- 2 recent photos.
- A fee of visa US$25 paid directly to Viet Nam embassy or consulate nearest you, or to customs officer when you get visa upon arrival in Vietnam airport.
Getting there and away
Inter national airports: there are three international airports in Viet Nam: Noi Bai (Ha Noi – tel: 84-4 8 866 527), Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City – tel: 84-8 8 485 383 / 8 320 320) and Da Nang ( - tel: 84-511 830 339).
If you have not arranged a representative to meet you at the air port, here is what you should do:
In Sai Gon: Tan Son Nhat airport is about 7km northwest of the city center. The best way to get in to the city is to take a taxi. Picked a metered taxi outside the terminal and the journey should cost from US$7 to US$10.
In Ha Noi: Ha Noi’s Noi Bai airport is 35km far from of the city. A taxi into the city center is usually set around US$10.
Over Land Routed to Viet Nam: it is now possible to enter Viet Nam overland from either Cambodia, Laos, or China.
Visitors can travel to various provinces, cities and town by the Chao Vietnam Tourist Company representative, to get a car, taxi, motorbike and cyclo for sightseeing. Cyclo, a three-wheeled vehicle, is perfect for those who wish to move slowly and enjoy a city tour.
Leaving Viet Nam
