Viet Nam is located in both a tropical and a temperate zone. It accounts for the varied climate in the country. Viet Nam is a year round destination, when one part of Viet Nam is cloudy and rainy, there are other parts of the country that can be sunny and warm.
The South (from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet ).
The south is hot year round and has two seasons: rainy-season and sunny-season. The rain season lasts from May to October and you can expect daily downpours. But it usually brief and easy to predict. The sunny-season from November to April is generally sunny and humid.
The Central ( from Nha Trang to Hue).
For most of the year Nha Trang is bathed in beautiful sunshine but between November and December this place has heavy rain. Da lat – the highland city is cooler than the coastal area, particularly from November to March.
The North (from Ha Noi to Sapa).
Summer in the north lasts from May to October. The weather is cooler in the winter from December to March. February and March can be damp with drizzle.
Annual average temperature for the whole country ranges from 22 to 27oC. The average temperature in the north is 23oC ( Ha Noi), 26oC in the south (Ho Chi Minh city), and 25oC in the central (Hue).
